It all started in 2006 when…
Wellspring founder and Gainesville native, Ahren Tsacrios, was on a mission to improve his health after his son was born and began to discover the benefits of adding probiotics into his daily routine.
Ahren decided to expriment with the up and coming magical elixir coined “kombucha” and was quickly sold as he began to feel healthier and more energized. Ahren was, however, disappointed with the lack of quality kombucha on the East coast and became inspired to provide Gainesville with its own ‘bucha wellspring in hopes to serve his local community.
After pleasing enough palettes of friends and family, Ahren took the plunge and created the one and only Wellspring Brewing Company in 2011 with the help of his business partner and long time Gainesville-native notable drummer, musician and massage therapist, Eli Collins.
As demand for the elixir grew, Eli recruited his childhood friend, former colleague, fellow Gainesville Native and “brother from another [kombucha] mother,” Christian Benway, to embark on the opportunity of a lifetime. Christian, too, enjoyed the health and weight benefits of kombucha and quickly found himself hooked with both the drink and Wellspring’s vision, officially joining one of the Gainesville’s fastest growing, forward thinking health companies. You can catch the ‘Bucha Boys or “Brothers from Another Mother” at their brewery, on their trike or serving up tastings around Gainesville FL and beyond.
